She began painting over 10 years ago to innocently fill the empty space on her walls in a house she was renting for college. It didn't take long for friends to start asking "Where did you buy that wall art?" and "Will you make one for me?" Melissa now works with interior decorators and designs custom artwork while continuing to grow her gallery. Her abstract wall art will soon be on display in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Pittsburgh. Melissa has attended numerous art shows along the east coast including "Art for the Masses" and "Riverfest" in Wilmington, North Carolina. Her painting style is best described as contemporary abstract wall art. Her original works of art are done with acrylic paint on canvas. Melissa's inspiration for painting comes from her love of brilliant colors. She loves painting landscapes, flowers and shapes. Futhermore, Melissa has a deep passion for animals and donates a portion of her proceeds to a non-profit organization dedicated to cat rescue. I feel my appreciation for color and life shines through my work. Color represents me as a person. My emotions are different on a day-to-day basis just like colors in nature. No matter what life has in store, I always try and find the positive in the meaning of a color. Most of my paintings are titled after personal situations that have affected my life and the colors that represented that moment.
